MR16 GU10 Bulbs

There's a light bulb for everything these days. Thomas Edison would be proud. With a variety of bulbs available for the smallest lights to ones that can be seen miles away, the MR16 GU10 bulbs are just one of many that provide a specialty in the bulb world. The MR16 GU10 bulb is a halogen bulb with a covered lens that can be found in a variety of Watts. The "16" in MR16 refers to the diameter of the bulb. The "16" stands for 16/8 of an inch. The GU10 is in reference to the base of the bulb. This bulb diameter and base provide a 36 degree flood beam spread. While halogen bulbs already boast of long-life, some MR16 GU10 Quartz Halogen bulbs actually claim a 4,000 hour life-span which is four times longer than most MR16s. Because the MR16 GU10 bulb is a regular 120 volt bulb, it does not require any special transformer to operate. It can run off of a regular 120V voltage supply. Due to the high heat that halogen bulbs can reach, the MR16 GU10 bulb features a ceramic base to withstand the high temperatures.  Because there are a variety of types of MR16 GU10 bulbs depending on brand or manufacturer, there are a lot of different features and specifications available. While some offer longer life, others offer particular coatings that are able to remove heat that passes through the tail of the lamp. This then allows for a softer, cooler light beam. Depending on the use for the MR16 GU10, these specifications are important to consider getting the best light for its purpose. In most cases, the MR16 GU10 bulb is idea for smaller settings such as retail displays. Retailing anywhere between a couple dollars to six or seven depending on retailer, the MR16 GU10 bulbs are an economical choice.
